Falling in love...

A few weeks ago, we went walking along the west side and it was such a beautiful day with some ominous clouds for a backdrop. I was thinking that New York would have been a wonderful place to fall in love. It's just a nice setting for a romance. It's also a nice place to have a family. We stopped occasionally and just ran around the grass and watched the boats on the water and just played together until it was really late. There are times when I am sick of the city and ready to move to the warm beach or to the suburbs where I can drive my minivan to a super-target to pick up some pool toys. This was not that day.

"Cyra can do taco tounge??" said Rachel. She's now concentrating with extreme-ness on making her own taco-tongue. Really a beautiful day. It was still over 100 degrees here today. Ugh.

Looks fun! I love your pictures. What kind of camera do you use? Just wondering. So, when are you coming up to Boston? Hmmm...

Hi Mehrsa!
I served in NY many years ago and loved your family (I was Sis. Baugh then) I found your blog at Heather's and thought I'd check it out. You have a beautiful family.

(I hope you remember me otherwise this is just creepy and completely disregard it!)

I'm glad to see you are doing well.

Evenings and outings like this do make the city a magical place. I love how much there is to do for free and how there is a lot of cool spaces for kids to run around...if you can just find it. Beautiful pictures!

You guys put "ohana" back into "family". Thanks for posting, Mehrsa.

What a beautiful day. We had a few of those here last week, until the heat and humidity decided that summer isn't over just yet and descended on us once again.

Isn't is crazy how these kids get so big so quickly?

so great. it's just so rich there. i don't mean $. i mean in culture and atmosphere. there is something to be said for atmosphere. and don't worry, i'm sure you'll get your mini-van some day.

That west side river walk. It's where Levi and I fell in love. It is nice that all these things exist to make the other "things" seem less severe. I love NY. I mean, I hate it--I really, really hate it but I love it.

These are amazing pictures. I love the one of you and Cyra together. You are still so tan! Good work on keeping the tan going into September. That's impressing. And Cyra is looking adorable as ever. As is Lulu.

i just love how they pack the bag and unpack the bag and pack the bag again every time you stop somewhere. They never get tired of stuffing the bag...and they seem to be keeping track of what is in it too. Nana and her bag drive me wild. Now she wants to pack 2 or sometimes 3 bags...not a reflection of me...not at all.

You're making me want to move to New York.

But my weekly trips to Costco for industrial-size packages of toilet paper, paper towels, and cheese--how can I live without that?
