Vogue: Toddler edition

If you are a toddlers out there who feels like you are stuck in a rut--wearing "normal" clothes in "normal" ways, here are a few tips to help you spruce up your wardrobe.

RULE #1: LAYER!

Here, the model (who demands that she dresses herself every day!) is wearing a red dress over a purple skirt over leggings with a shirt on top and a cardigan over that. That's right--why settle for a top and a bottom when you can wear FIVE different pieces together!)

RULE #2: Don't forget to accessorize!

Here again, the model (on a different day!) is wearing that same red dress and purple skirt with leggings, a floral shirt and a pink cardigan). Here, to make the outfit "more fanced!" she's added red glitter shoes, a purple ring and a red flower in her hair. Remember toddlers, don't worry about matching--just pick 5 pieces of clothing that you like and put them ALL on!).

RULE #3: If you like an outfit, wear it ALL the time!

(note: all of these pictures were taken on different days and all the days in between the taking of these pictures, the model was wearing different variations of the SAME outfit. If it aint broke, don't fix it!).

RULE 4: Wear it with attitude!

This picture was taken a few months ago (before the red dress phase).

RULE 5: Do not pay any attention to the seasons when picking clothes to wear!

(note the snow on the ground in February, which is when this picture of the model was taken.)

Elsie and Theo also enjoy the multiple tutu look. They'd like to recommend the just-tights look to their Utah friends.

It's one of the funnest things about parenting, no? Just this afternoon I asked Adelaide to put something away and she got on her tricycle and zipped to the closet. She was wearing a bright yellow sun dress, some snarsty hair-do and a bright blue trucker hat (on sideways). I watched and thought I die for all the love I felt for her and childhood.

We miss that Lulu.
