Did I mention my daughter is a rock star? Her favorite toys are guitars (which she calls violins). She just walks around the house making up songs and singing the ones she knows over and over again.

Christmas in Phoenix
Jared's Mom and Grandma.
Cyra was the perfect age for Christmas. She was so excited about everything. She was more excited about the Elmo wrapping paper than most of the presents. We could have stopped after one and she would have been content. After her birthday, I put away all the presents and would just bring them out about once a week so now Cyra just expects presents all the time. Sometimes she will just ask me for a present randomly so I went to the Dollar store and got a stock of presents to give her when she is good or just when she needs to feel special. The good thing is that I can give her a pencil and as long as I call it a present, she get's so excited. She covers her mouth and gets excited and says: Oh my goodness!

Christmas Nativity with the Cousins in Phoenix
Lucia was a perfect baby Jesus. Cyra was the angel that had to be in the manger next to baby Jesus and yelling: Mommy, it's the baby! Mommy, what doing?

Cyra, Kian, and Tamir (Tookie) were hilarious. They just all grabbed these different instruments and started rocking out. The set included twinkle twinkle little star, row, row, row your boat and variations of each. I also love how different they each look. It's like a mini-U.N.

Cyra and Lucia with Santa Clause
You can tell Lucia was really into Santa, right? Cyra was also very excited. I am actually glad that she has a natural fear of old men she doesn't know.

I broke my foot.
I was running because I was late to see Barack Obama at the Apollo and I tripped on the sidewalk and broke my foot. I still went and it was wonderful. Chris Rock and Cornell West were there and it was great to hear Barack Obama. My broken foot was a small sacrifice.
And then I spent 5 hours in the Cornell Hospital emergency room. It was terrible. I just needed a 5 minute ex-ray and a cast and it took forever to get seen. There were all sorts of crazy people there. I hope that never happens again. What's even crazier is trying to deal with a newborn and a toddler with a broken foot. Thank goodness for online grocery and Christmas shopping.

Cyra's first Broadway show
We went to see the Grinch Stole Christmas. Cyra loved it. When she gets into something, she sticks her whole hand in her mouth. She had her hand in her mouth the whole time and had drool all over herself by the end of the show. I don't really think she got it though.

NYC marathon in November
These are some old pictures on another camera that I forgot about. Kian and Cyra had the best time cheering on the runners at the marathon. It was totally Harlem style too because right next to where we were standing, there were these four guys just standing there with a microphone and amp just rapping and cheering on the runners. It was fun.
