So in this last post about our renovations, we still had one project left--this wall:

Well, Jared had a vision for this wall and did all the work himself. I wish I had taken pictures of each step to show how hard it was, but I wasn't there. Jared went to the lumberyard and picked out some walnut wood and then he cut it and shaped it and glued it with the help of our friend, David Morgan, who is an industrial design professor. He spent a lot of nights at the shop and then he came home and sanded the wood for several nights and then finished it and then ordered this bracketing system and then he put pretty things on the shelf and now it looks like this:
We also changed out the hallway and entry way lights:

That is one helluva nice shelf, Jared. You guys officially have the greatest place. Your house belongs in Dwell magazine.
