Hiking

We took the seats out of the Expedition and piled in the back. Safe.

We went to Goosepond trail, which is 10 minutes from our house in Goshen.

My hippie husband (who was riding a dirt bike in the previous picture).

Playing outside in Goshen

Darius got a dirt bike and Jared was loving it.

Cyra was upstairs "playing" while I was cooking something and the baby was sleeping. She kept calling me upstairs, but I needed to finish up and then she said, mommy, look at me and the baby. What? So I went upstairs and Cyra had gone in my closet and climbed on my drawers and was laying down with the baby when I got there. The baby was elated:

And then they were both rocking back and forth (that's Lucia's new trick):

Outing with Cyra

Cyra has mastered the New York face. She was staring everyone down on the subway. A few seconds after this picture was taken, she was out.

Dinner with mom and dad. We went to Indonesian food--in loving memory of Bali. The whole time, she just wanted to go home though.

Cyra loves chicken Satay.

The Second Child

So we had a crazy incident the other day. Cyra had an accident in the bathtub--#2--yuck. So I was busy cleaning that and then disinfecting the toys and washing everything and while I was doing that, Cyra was in the bathroom and kept flushing the toilet (i am still not certain what she put in there), but anyway, I came down from the laundry room and there was water all over the bathroom (from the toilet, that is--yuck, yuck). So I had to get towels and clean that up and disinfect some more, wash Cyra, unclog toilet, etc. This all took a while and when I came back to pay attention to Lucia, not only had she entertained herself the entire time and fed herself from the bottle that was on the floor (I was mid-feeding when the bath fiasco happened), she was stuck in this position, but still content.

Tiare and Atticus are here for the summer and Cyra loves playing with them. They are like a big sister and brother.

These pictures are from Tiare's photoshoot.

Dress-up.

Summer-ish day on the stoop

Mother's Day

We went to Goshen for Mother's Day. My father made a wonderful meal for us. And he even got creative and decorated the food:

On the rice it says Mother in Farsi.

My little girls

As I mentioned before, Cyra is potty trained. We have had several accidents, but it's all part of the fun. One of the accidents happened when Cyra just walked up to the toilet and said "I want to do it like Kian" and just peed on the floor. Then we had to explain that peeing standing up is one of the very few things that boys can do that girls cannot.

Cyra is hilarious these days. We are definitely having some little battling of the wills, but I just need some more time to break hers (Just kidding). She wins some and I win some and I think the score is a little more in my favor and I am learning to pick my battles.

Things Cyra does not like: jackets, shoes, pull-ups (has to wear underwear), sitting in the high chair (she eats all her meals on a step-ladder in the kitchen); hot food, and sometimes the baby.

Things Cyra loves: her dad, wearing jeans, having FHE lessons, playing ring around the baby, reading books, counting in Spanish (like Dora), singing songs, picking her toes (she loves to just sit there and pick lint from her toes), orange juice, and sometimes the baby.

Speaking of the baby...

Seriously, a little angel. So happy all the time. She smiles every time you look in her direction and kicks her legs and flaps her arms when you get near her.
